| Purpose | Support heart patients, their family and carers through social interaction. Take Heart (Derby) is a social support group for heart patients, their carers, their families and anyone with an interest in heart patients. It is affiliated to the British Heart Foundation. It offers help and support but doesn't give medical advice or medication. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month at The Friends Meeting House, St Helens Street, Derby, DE1 3GY. Accessibility - disabled toilets, slopped access, limited disabled parking bays outside, other spaces in Chapel Street Car Park. Charges are £1.50 per person towards the cost of speakers at monthly meetings and include refreshments. They have a Coffee Morning on the last Tuesday in the month (10.30am-11.30am) at the Catheral Coffee Shop, 18-19 Irongate, Derby. Accessibility - lift and disabled parking adjacent. Weekly (private) swimming sessions for members only in a heated pool at The Queens Leisure Centre, Cathedral Road, Derby every Wednesday afternoon at 3.15pm until 4.00pm. Two walks each month - one for the fitter and active person and the other "tortoise" walk for the less energetic, people with push chairs, wheel chairs etc. Contact 01332 767368 for details.
