| Purpose | Our mission is to prevent strokes, and reduce their effect through providing services, campaigning, education and research. The Stroke Association is a national charity whose work covers research, prevention and direct help. The National Helpline provides information to stroke families, health community professionals and anyone with an interest in stroke, offering a listening ear to stroke survivors and families coming to terms with stroke illness and its consequences. The service is free and confidential. The association provides a programme of training for those who work with people affected by stroke and holds details of local stroke support clubs |
