    • Community drum workshop and drum circle facilitator
Purpose My aim is to break down barriers to accessing music through positive engagement with communities and individuals, to increase confidence and enhance health and wellbeing.

I encourage participation from people of all ages within communities in djembe drumming workshops and drum circles. I have 35 djembe drums and a small range of percussion that can be used by participants of all abilities to create music that can either be taught through a structured workshop or organic through an evolving drum circle with minimum facilitation.

I can work both indoors and outdoors and with all ages over 5 years old. All abilities are encouraged to participate and everyone’s contributions and achievements are valued and celebrated.

Engaging people in a music activity they may have never tried before, or developing and building on existing musical skills through regularly attending the drumming group I run - South Derbyshire Community Drummers which is held once a month in Swadlincote, South Derbyshire.

Providing a music activity that parents/carers/grandparents can participate in alongside their children at the Families sessions based at Rosliston Forestry Centre, South Derbyshire and also Markeaton Park Craft Centre during school holidays
Services I work freelance facilitating djembe drumming workshops and drum circles to communities via projects, groups, services and at public events and festivals.
At public events and festivals I provide audience participation drum circles for members of the public to join in with.

In closed sessions (at projects, groups and services) I provide a more structured workshop that is tailor-made to meet the needs of the group. I am able to provide ‘one off’ workshops or a series of workshops that may lead to outcomes such as a group performance if appropriate.
