|Purpose||The Befriending Service aims to tackle the symptoms of loneliness and isolation amongst older people in the Derbyshire Dales and High Peak. Specifically we aim to:
Enable older people to overcome the barriers of isolation and loneliness
Improve and maintain emotional wellbeing of older people
Enable older people to reengage with their community
Enable older people to retain their independence
Enable older people to remain in their own home for as long as they wish
Enable carers to receive
|Services||Provide the company of others and an opportunity to talk to someone through regular home visits or telephone calls.
Provide opportunities to participate in social activities
encouragement to joins clubs/community activities
Provide information about and signpost to other services and organisations
Pursue interests and activities - through, for example, activity based visits.
Recruit, encourage, support and train volunteers to help deliver the service.
