| Purpose | Westhouses has no community facilities for residents to access, this affects the Elderly and disabled residents who are in effect housebound and isolated by the lack of amenities. It is compounded by very poor transport links adding to others feeling isolated due to poverty. Depression and hopeless affects many here. WCA was formed by residents concerned about the lack of social cohesion. We seek to raise the community spirit, health and wellbeing of all residents by providing group activities such as a weekly Knit and Natter group, organise events on the village green, running an Easter egg hunt, holding scarecrow, pumpkin and best festive house competitions. Also we promote residents to use the countryside around us by yarning bombing the local streams. We have a Facebook page, write and deliver a monthly newsletter to each household to connect all residents. |
