| Purpose | Physical activities are renowned for improving health and well-being, but with traditional practises (gym environments etc) there is opportunity for the mind to wonder off to areas that may be contributing to un-wellness. Aerial arts requires the student to be present for the full hour, they are required to concentrate on where they are going, what they are doing and build muscle memory through varied repetition (new flows / moves / poses etc). It is through this commitment to the activity that naturally released endorphins are felt, alongside achievement, improved flexibility, muscle strength alongside internal and external well-being, especially mentally. Thus, creating a desire to return to a place of wellness rather than the struggles they may be being faced with. Overtime, as relationships grow, along with confidence and opportunity for social meets, a student will have the opportunity to raise any challenges they may be facing in life. Sharing with like minded people, being open and receptive to signposting for additional support where relevant. |
